Acting for Africans

Posted on July 24, 2009 at 6:00am 0 Comments

When the Late Babu and myself nominated Taj I was not familiar with the Borderland issue. Babu would have been sice he was a Zanzibari. What I realised was that Taj did not have much reading background on Pan-Africanism. He had much enthusiasm.

He chose to go the way of the poltical leaders of state Pan-Africanism such as Salim, who was head of the OAU and Butros Ghali, SG of the UN. Like Salim Taj took an Arab wife. That was the option he chose. You'd remember that Nkrumah had done the…

Dear Alfred and friends

Thanks for the variuos comments. I am as busy with Sudan/Borderlands issues as I was in Juba. Right now I

am preparing a paper for the Sudan Studies Conference at the University of South Africa in Pretoria in November. The

presentation, if it is accepted, will be partly based on the argument of Chancellor Williams on the falsification of African history by western scholarship.

Alfred - your coomments on Taj reflect my thinking, and are a… Continue

ACTING FOR AFRICANS ON THE WORLD STAGE –TAJUDEEN ABDUL-RAHEEM – A LIFE OF SERVICE

If my memory serves me well, I first met Tajudeen Abdul-Raheem in London, where I was living involuntarily in 1988, whilst working the night shift at Rochelle Laundry, having left Rawling’s Ghana hurriedly. He was then Editor of Africa World Review and a member of The African Information and Research Bureau… Continue

THE AFRICAN EASTERN DIASPORA IN ARABIA, THE MIDDLE EAST, NORTH AFRICA, THE GULF STATES AND POINTS EASTWARDS

Posted on July 11, 2009 at 6:30pm 0 Comments

It is a truism that Africans in general are not informed of their history. This assertion is repeated at page 161 by Wariz.O.Alli, in his contribution to the book ‘Africa and the African Diaspora’. He states that one of the major problems confronting African policy makers is their low level of appreciation of the African Diaspora. Many African leaders are not aware of the many possibilities of the African Diaspora. Lack of appreciation goes beyond denial of the Diaspora. Many are…

THE AFRO-ARAB BORDERLANDS – AMBIGUOUS RELATIONS IN THE SAHEL REGION OF AFRICA

Posted on April 19, 2009 at 5:30pm 1 Comment

BF BANKIE:

‘ There are sizeable Black African populations in south Libya, northern Chad and south Algeria – but less in the latter. I can hardly see any African-Arab Borderlands in 100-500-1000 years. The African people will be freed and taking a lead, turning the tables on the oppressors’. Garba Diallo –Mauritanian

‘Chad is a Black nation with a minority of Arabs in the northern and eastern parts of the country. Yes, southern Libya and Algeria are Black…

Good day,
How is everything with you, I picked interest on you, after going through your short profile and deemed it necessary to write you immediately. I have something very vital to disclose to you, but I found it difficult to express myself here, since it's a public site. Could you please get back to me. My E-mail address (sotia_teneh4@yahoo.co.th) for the full details. Have a nice day.
thanks
Sotia Teneh.
