4 TROUBLING TRUTHS ABOUT BLACK BOYS AND THE U.S. EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM

By Dr. Matthew Lynch | Most people like to think that American K-12 schools, workplaces and courthouses are pillars of fairness, but statistic after statistic all point to a crisis among the young, Black men of the nation. This crisis begins in homes, stretches to K-12 educational experiences, and leads straight to the cycle of incarceration in increasingly high numbers. In America’s prison systems, black citizens are incarcerated at six times the rates of white ones – and the NAACP predicts that one in three of this generation of Black men will spend some time locked up.

Decreasing the rates of incarceration for black men may actually be a matter of improving educational outcomes for black boys in America. In his piece “A Broken Windows Approach to Education Reform,” Forbes writer James Marshall Crotty makes a direct connection between drop-out and crime rates. He argues that if educators will simply take a highly organized approach to keeping kids in school, it will make a difference in the crime statistics of the future.

While there are many areas of improvement that we could look at changing for more successful outcomes for black men, I will discuss just four indicators that illustrate the current situation for black boys in the U.S., with the hope of starting a conversation about what we can do to produce a stronger generation of Black young men in our society.

When you don't understand the society you live in , you will remain confused and unable to come up with a solution that will correct the problem.Dr.France Cress Welsing, Writer and psychiatrist in her research, found that a system is practiced by the global white minority, on both conscious and unconscious levels, to ensure their genetic survival by any means necessary . According to Welsing, this system attacks people of color, particularly people of African descent, in the nine major areas of people's activity: economics,education,entertainment,labor,politics,religion,sex,and war. Welsing believes that it is imperative that people of color,especially people of African descent, understand how the system of white supremacy works in order to dismantle it and bring true justice to planet earth. They tell you the crisis start at home, blaming the victim . When in reality the problem is systematic, keeping people of color in their place, ensuring white domination benefits white people.So this society is not a pillars of fairness as stated in the articles. So how is the problem at home.Dr. Amos Wilson stated, even if you took measures to fix the problem at home, do you really think that will fix the problem of racial/social injustice and white domination. Thank you

Just by examining the photo in the article, should tell you something. You think that whites will teach your children for the benefit of Black people?

On a different note, one cannot ensure the survival of oneself and one's own community by destroying, or attempting to destroy, a different community.  We all we need to learn to live together harmoniously.  Any destructive actions taken against another will always, inevitably, lead to negative consequences for oneself.
